Categories : Domaine's Life, published on : 2/6/25
It is in Missillac, at the Domaine de la Bretesche, that we invite you to experience an unforgettable romantic weekend. Just three hours from Paris, at the gateway to Brittany, our five-star Relais & Châteaux property offers the perfect setting for a truly unique moment for two.
A SUITE WITH A VIEW
your elegant, private retreat
What better way to escape than with a lake-view suite? Ranging from 33 to 55 m², the Junior Suites at Domaine de la Bretesche combine rustic charm with contemporary elegance. Bathed in calm and flooded with natural light, they offer a generous living space ideal for a romantic stay.
Renovated in 2025 by interior designer Stéphanie Decurey, each suite features refined decor and craftsmanship from renowned design houses and artisans, including Michel Denis, Pierre Frey, Ligne Roset, Dedar, and Casamance.
A TRULY EXCLUSIVE MOMENT
at the cour carrée spa
Once you’ve settled in, head to the spa. Swim a few laps in the 14-meter heated indoor pool, unwind in the sauna, and indulge in a long couples massage with products by Cinq Mondes or Omnisens. Then, sip a herbal tea beneath the glass roof, watching the sun set over the surrounding nature.
This 400 m² sanctuary of wood, stone, and slate is bathed in daylight from morning to evening. And for a truly exceptional experience, we’re delighted to offer private evening access to the spa — perfect for making your romantic weekend unforgettable.
SUMMER PLEASURES IN THE OPEN AIR...
From spring through late summer, those pleasures extend outdoors. Take a dip in the hotel’s large heated outdoor pool (open May to September), or enjoy a truly unique wellness experience in our ornamental garden. There, tucked among herbs and blooms, we’ve created an intimate spa annex open to the breeze and birdsong.
A ROMANTIC AND GASTRONOMIC
getaway
Fully relaxed and ready for the evening, begin with a drink at the Bar des Écuries. Once the estate’s stables, the space now features original horse stalls turned into cozy alcoves. With aged leather, dark wood, and gleaming brass, it’s a whimsical yet elegant setting for a romantic aperitif.
Then head to our elegant gastronomic restaurant, Le Montaigu. The perfect setting for a candlelit dinner, its floor-to-ceiling windows open onto the lake, mirroring the château in the distance. The atmosphere is intimate, the cuisine unforgettable. Chef Filipe Silvestre, who trained at several Michelin-starred restaurants — including La Bastide de Saint-Antoine in Grasse, Les Pêcheurs in Cap d’Antibes, and La Table de l’Ermitage at Mont-Saint-Michel — offers a refined menu inspired by French culinary tradition and enriched with Asian influences. An exceptional dining experience in a sublime setting.
AND IN THE MORNING…
a breath of nature
After a peaceful night’s sleep, wake gently and set off to discover the treasures of the Domaine. Take a stroll around the lake, enjoy a round of golf, play tennis, go for a run, or cycle through the forest. Nature lovers and active guests alike are spoilt for choice. And if the time runs out too quickly, there’s always the perfect excuse to return — we’ll be delighted to welcome you again for another romantic escape.
